Quiet Strength - Chapter 8 - NerdQueenS - 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia (2024)

Chapter Text

As soon as they made it back to the classroom, Izuku abdicated his position to the other two, leaving the class in shock over his humility. He gave them credit for his idea, even though they’d all heard his orders.

Many of the students were so surprised that when All Might came to pick them up for heroics, they barely registered anything beyond the instructions to go change. When the class had made it to Ground Beta, there was a little of their earlier spark that their teacher revived to a flame with their training activity.

The hero split the class up into teams of two, except an odd set that would have three, and then pitted them against each other as heroes and villains. While they fought, the class failed to realize there were more than one set of eyes keeping a look out for them.

Days passed as the students fell into routine. History, science, Japanese, English, art, math- normal classes- filled their mornings but the afternoons were spent training their bodies and minds for the hard work they would face as heroes.

A few days to settle in before a new and improved training was to begin. They were told to meet up at the front of the school, either with or without their hero costumes which Izuku found odd. When the class made it to the front of the school, they found two buses waiting for them and the entirety of class 1B milling around in front of the second bus. Their teacher, Vlad King, was keeping one eye on his own class and glaring at the other when he thought they weren’t looking.

Everyone ignored the hostility since they knew of the Aizawa-King rivalry, until a pretentious beta stepped up and began to spew vitriol at class A.

“Look at these pups! They’re late to their first true heroics activity, of course class B is better! We wouldn’t dare to be late. These imbeciles look like they’re going to fail out as soon as we hit testing- what morons. And by the smell of it, they’re all a bunch of knot heads and slu*ts, not a brain among them!”

While the boy cackled at his own comments, a redhead girl simply walked up behind him and knocked him unconscious with her hand enlargement quirk.

“I’m sorry about him. He’s more than a handful, if you’ll pardon the pun, and I’ll try to keep him in check. Good luck today!” The girl smiled and waved before dragging the boy’s sleeping form over to their bus. Katsuki growled at the dead-to-the-world boy as the girl hoisted him into their bus carelessly.

“f*cker’s lucky she took care of him cause he’d be missing parts if I’d been the one to shut him up.”

Aizawa chose that moment to appear, ordering the class to load up. Izuku noticed a couple stares from the other class, but everyone else focused on making fun of the bossy beta president for ordering them into orderly lines that fell apart the moment they stepped into their transport.

The students sat down in groups around the bus, making themselves comfortable. Students gossiped and joked as the bus took them from the main building to wherever the teachers had their lessons planned for the day. One even noticed that the other bus was going in the opposite direction, sparking a conversation about different training.

Izuku and Katsuki had settled into a bench toward the back of the bus, allowing the omega to curl up in his alpha’s protective embrace while still being out of view enough to be semi-private. They used the opportunity to scent each other, settling some of Izuku’s nerves. His nerves had been tingling with displeasure since they’d arrived at school for the day, but had really kicked it up a notch when the class had loaded up.

Their classmates noticed the omega’s odd behavior, but let Katsuki take care of it- after all it wasn’t their place since he had an alpha- and politely looked away from the minor PDA. Even Iida had chosen to stay silent on the matter.

When the vehicle came to a stop, Aizawa ordered them to leave anything they didn’t need for heroics training and to line up outside the bus. Once they were all in sufficient order, he introduced their Rescue instructor.

“Oh my goodness!” Uraraka squealed, “It’s Thirteen! She’s my favorite hero in the world!”

“Hello, Students of class 1A.” The hero said as she started walking the group to the building. “I am Sensei Kurosawa Anan, hero name Thirteen, and I can only hope to help you all grow into better heroes through rescue. Even the most combative heroes can be called on to rescue sites, and I want to help you to be prepared for anything. To further your abilities, I welcome you all to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or the USJ!”

“Just like Universal Studios Japan!” The electric blond boy stage whispered, meaning everyone heard it.

“Yes, it’s the same initials, kid; but unlike Universal, our USJ is made up of seperate areas to help you train to be the best rescuers you can be.” Thirteen sounded like she was smiling when she replied. “The separate areas are made to replicate scenarios that heroes have faced previously and to help you know both your limits and the limits of your fellow heroes-in-training.”

The doors swung open to reveal the intricate training facilities beyond. Wind and rain and fire drew their attention to the different areas as Aizawa started talking. Most of the class was too busy taking in the view to listen, but everyone listened when his voice took on a worried note they hadn’t heard before.

“What is that?” He asked Thirteen sharply. A swirling black mist deposited person after person in the central area of the arena.

“I don’t-

“Cool! We get to practice with real people?” One of the students asked, voice carrying over the rest of them.

“No- Those are real people, but it was just supposed to be us.” Thirteen breathed. Terror laced the scents of the students as they took in their senseis’ attitudes.

“Those are villains.” Aizawa said, steel lacing his scent and voice. “Thirteen, get the students to safety, I’ve got these guys.”

“Sensei!” Izuku screeched, “Erasure won’t work against all of them.”

“Midoriya, no good hero is a one trick pony. Now reign in that scent, and get out of here. Someone needs to tell the school what’s happening.”
