Hudson Card threw for 136 yards (15 for 21) in the first half. Devin Mockobee ran for 33 yards on 9 attempts. Max Klare led the receivers with 5 receptions for 48 yards.
On defense, Dillon Thieneman led the way with 5 total tackles. Isaiah Nichols had a sack for the Boilers.

Welp, there goes Purdue's 17-point lead. The Hokies really turned it on in the last few minutes of the second half. Starting at their own 30-yard line, Virginia Tech marched down the field to tie things up with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Grant Wells to Jaylin Lane.

Virginia Tech's Grant Wells looked left and threw to a receiver, but it was picked off by Cam Allen, who is a Virginia native. Allen's interception is his 11th at Purdue, which is tied for third on the all-time list.

And we're back. Purdue ended up punting on its second drive of the game coming out of the delay. Virginia Tech then took over but the Boilermaker defense forced a punt. There's a little more than 2 minutes left in the opening quarter.

About 30 minutes beforePurdue footballwas scheduled to kick off against Virginia Tech on Saturday, Lane Stadium was evacuated.
Fans were advised to seek shelter in the concourse due to severe weather approaching.
A press box announcement said lightning was in the area and the start of the game will be delayed. The new kickoff time is 12:15 p.m. EDT.
