Another day, another Hollywood couple that makes you go "… Really?" In 2020, we welcomed Ben Affleck, 47, and Ana de Armas, 31, to the club. The duo were speculated to be romantically linked since they were spotted vacationing together in Havana, Cuba, in March 2020. However, January 2021 brought bad news for fans of the couple.
Here's everything we know about their relationship so far.
January 2021: The couple split after almost a year together.
All good things must come to an end, and it would appear that Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck's budding romance is over. People reported the sad news, with a source revealing, "Ben is no longer dating Ana ... She broke it off. Their relationship was complicated." People's source also explained, "Ana doesn't want to be Los Angeles based and Ben obviously has to since his kids live in Los Angeles."
While de Armas and Affleck have hit pause on their relationship for now, the split was reportedly amicable. "This is something that was mutual and something that is completely amicable," the source said. "They are in different points in their lives; there is deep love and respect there. Ben continues to want to work on himself. He has three jobs lined up and he’s a solid father at home. They are both happy with where they are in their lives."
December 2020: Ben and Ana move in together.
It looks like de Armas and Affleck have taken their relationship to the next level. After going public with their romance earlier this year, it's being reported that de Armas has moved into Affleck's home in Los Angeles. A source confirmed the move to People, and said that de Armas had listed her Venice, California home for sale.
A "friend" also told the publication that Affleck and de Armas's "relationship continues to be strong."
November 28, 2020: Ben and Ana go on a park date with his kids.
The couple was spotted taking Affleck's kids to a Santa Monica park after spending Thanksgiving together.
De Armas wore an all-pale-pink outfit, pairing a voluminous maxi skirt with a cami and finishing off the look with a gray sweater tied around her shoulders. Meanwhile, Affleck went down the monochromatic route, too, sporting all-gray with his blazer, sweater, and trousers.
November 2020: Ben and Ana spend their first Thanksgiving together.
Having returned to the set of Deep Water in New Orleans earlier this month, Affleck and de Armas "enjoyed a family-filled Thanksgiving weekend together" in Los Angeles, per People. According to the publication, the happy couple hosted Affleck's children—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel—who the actor shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
A source told the publication, "Ben and Ana seem great ... Everyone seemed very happy. Ana has been traveling so she had not seen the kids for a while."
October 15, 2020: After months of staying relatively low-key, Ana and Ben return to the public eye.
Much has changed since we last saw Affleck and de Armas: The president got COVID-19, Nicki Minaj gave birth, and SZA even released new music. Sightings of Affleck, who has been busy filming The Last Duel in Ireland, and de Armas had abruptly stopped after months of PDA-filled appearances.
Now, however, the couple has returned.
They were photographed outside the actor's Pacific Palisades home Thursday, with Affleck greeting his beau at the door while wearing a T-shirt that read, "Asere ya, gracias." As for de Armas, she wore a babydoll dress and carried a large black shoulder bag.
August 24, 2020: The couple may be moving in together.
Over the past weekend, de Armas was spotted moving some of her stuff into Affleck's Los Angeles home, per People. "She had a huge grin and seemed very excited about living with Affleck," a source told the outlet.
A friend of Affleck and de Armas elaborated, "Ben and Ana really care for each other and they have a good thing going. She's aware that his family comes first. And appreciates that. They work very hard at that balance."
De Armas has also reportedly been spending more time with Affleck and his kids, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
August 18, 2020: Ana helps Ben stay sober.
Affleck has battled an addiction to alcohol for years. According to a source for E! News, de Armas is very supportive of him in keeping his sobriety.
"Since Ana has been in Ben's life, being sober has become easier to manage," the source said. "She came into his life and has given him everything he wants and needs in a partner. He's very satisfied with Ana and isn't looking for a coping method. She has a vivacious personality and is a very talented actress."
Luckily, the two have similar lifestyles when it comes to alcohol. "Drinking isn't part of the equation with Ana," the source continued. "She's very supportive and she doesn't party or make alcohol a big part of her life. It's not what they do as a couple or a part of their relationship. He really hasn't felt the want or need since they have gotten into a relationship."
De Armas has also apparently cultivated a good relationship with his kids, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. "She's wonderful with his kids and very loving. It's hard to put into words how happy he is with her. She fills him up and he doesn't need anything else," the insider said.
Ultimately, Affleck seems to be content with de Armas. "He's working out a lot and feeling great," another insider told the outlet. "He continues to focus on his family and his new relationship. It's been a great few months for them as a couple."
August 15, 2020: Ana celebrates Ben's 48th birthday.
On Saturday, Affleck rung in his 48th birthday—with a little help from his girlfriend. To celebrate, the Knives Out actress gifted her beau a custom-made BMW motorcycle, built from scratch by WYLD Garage Co., per People.
The two were photographed taking the chic new ride for a spin around the neighborhood. They even wore matching olive-green helmets.
De Armas also shared a rare selfie with Affleck on her Instagram.
August 10, 2020: Ben visits Ana at work.
While on set for a new movie she's filming, de Armas was paid a sweet visit by her ever supportive boyfriend. Paparazzi even caught Affleck pulling down his face mask to give her a smooch during her break.
August 4, 2020: They go on a double date with Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso.
Affleck and de Armas are officially the type of couple that brazenly makes out in front of their friends. At least, that's what photos show the pair doing while they enjoyed an outdoor double date in Malibu with Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso.

A source for Us Weekly said, "Ben is so sweet to Ana and does everything he can to make her happy. She can say anything—lunch, trips, etc. and he will make it happen."
The couple have been a bit more low key in recent weeks, but were spotted recently embarking on one of their signature dog walks with de Armas' pup, Elvis.

Having spent a lot of time together during lockdown, it would seem that Affleck and de Armas have decided to take their relationship to the next level. The couple was photographed looking at properties in Los Angeles, suggesting that they might be hoping to move in together soon.

Affleck's mother, Christine Boldt, was photographed stepping off a private plane with de Armas and Affleck last week. Per People, the trio went on a family vacation to Georgia with Affleck's three children and their dogs.
"They are spending a few days in Georgia with Ben's kids. It's a low-key vacation," a source said. "Ana seems to love being around his kids. Everyone has been getting along great. Ana is making an effort to get to know his kids."

The happy couple stocked up on some essentials at Whole Foods before the weekend, along with Ben's daughter, Violet.

Both Affleck and de Armas were spotted attending a Black Lives Matter Protest in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The two posed for a photo together where Affleck is seen holding up two homemade signs—one that reads "Black Lives Matter" and another in support of the First Baptist Church of Venice, a Black founded church which is facing demolition.
According to People, Affleck wants to instill the importance of social justice to his children.

Some observant fans noticed that de Armas seems to be snatching clothes out of Affleck's wardrobe. In early March, Affleck was photographed wearing an olive-green button-down, and the next month, de Armas was seen layering what appears to be the same shirt over a black sports bra while stepping out in Los Angeles.
"[Ana] thinks Ben is such a sweet and nice guy," a source told Us Weekly. "[She] admires how he juggles so much between work, his kids and coparenting with Jen."
Affleck also "splits his time [between Ana and his family] and, as always, the kids are the most important thing in his life," according to the insider. Still, he "always makes sure he has time for [Ana] and that she is number one," the source continued. "They are having so much fun together and she has been telling her friends how Ben is the most amazing boyfriend she's ever had."

Making a cameo in Residente's "Antes Que el Mundo Se Acabe," a romantic music video featuring couples from 80 different countries, Affleck and de Armas were one of 113 kisses.

A source for Us Weekly revealed that Affleck and de Armas's romantic desert getaway, which they embarked on toward the end of April for the actress's birthday, was extra special.

After celebrating her 32nd birthday on a desert holiday, de Armas posted a series of snaps that included a selfie with Affleck and another photo of the two of them hugging.
"Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes and love," she wrote in the caption. "Cheers to another great year. 🎉🌈💕🙏🏻🌸🌹✨🎈"
In another post, this one a video clip, de Armas knocks out a piñata while Affleck, who seems to be recording, eggs her on in the background.

Affleck and de Armas have become quite the regular fixture during quarantine. The couple stepped out on Saturday to walk their dogs in Santa Monica. The actress wore a chic pair of Saint Laurent slides which you can still shop.
April 18, 2020: They show off some sweet PDA.
Affleck and de Armas have officially joined the ranks of couples who aren't afraid to show off a little PDA. While waiting in line to pick up a box of doughnuts in Santa Monica, per the Daily Mail, Affleck was photographed with his arm resting around de Armas's shoulders. They also held hands.

After spending time in Cuba together, Affleck and de Armas’s relationship hit new heights in Costa Rica. Paparazzi even captured an intimate moment between the two as they had a romantic stroll down the beach.
As de Armas walked barefoot in a rust orange, maxi dress, Affleck wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned in for a sweet kiss.
March 10, 2020: A source reveals the couple "had a great time" during their Havana vacation.
A source for People divulged how much Affleck and de Armas (who was born in Cuba) enjoyed their vacation.
"Ben and Ana had a great time in Havana," the insider said. "Ana was his tour guide and took him to all her favorite places. Ben seemed to love the trip. He was in a great mood and very friendly. He was approached by fans multiple times and happily posed for pictures. They visited several restaurants and enjoyed Cuban cuisine."
The source, who the outlet reported is from the set of the actors' upcoming thriller, Deep Water, also had nothing but kind words for the actress, saying de Armas "is great and very pleasant to be around. She always greets people with a smile and you never hear a complaint. She has this very calm and sweet personality."

The couple embarked on a romantic getaway together to Havana, Cuba, in March. A source told People that they were seen making out in the airport before they boarded their private jet. "They are definitely dating," the source added.
An onlooker quoted for Page Six repeated those claims of romance. "They were beaming," the source said. "I saw Ana grab Ben's arm as they walked out together, they looked super happy—she's absolutely stunning! I totally think they’re dating."
Multiple fan photos also show the two exploring the city together, from shopping at hat store Clandestina to visiting art museums.
Per People, Affleck was overheard speaking to de Armas in Spanish, since he fluently speaks the language. Another onlooker reportedly wrote, "Ben Affleck right behind me spitting game to Ana de Armas in Spanish all night long is a vibe."
February 2020: Ben talks about his desire for a healthy relationship.
In a candid interview with Good Morning America, Affleck spoke vulnerably about his journey to sobriety, during which he credited fellow actor friends Bradley Cooper and Robert Downey Jr. for supporting him.
When asked where he sees himself in five years, his response was thoughtful. "Five years from now, Ben Affleck is sober and happy, and sees his kids three and a half days a week, and has made three or four movies that are interesting to him," he responded. "[And] directed two [movies] that he's hopefully proud of and is in a healthy, stable, loving, committed relationship."
